SRVUSD Administrative Update

We wanted to take some time to review and explain the administrative personnel changes that have taken place in the District recently, as well as provide more information about what these changes mean to our students and staff. 

 

Several administrative personnel changes have been made that support students and staff by reducing the amount of the budget that we commit to administrative expenses. The Board of Education took action on these changes at their meetings on October 29th and tonight, November 19th. These changes have resulted in the reduction of nine full-time administrative positions, seven of which have been district-level positions, since the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year. Combined, those changes resulted in ongoing savings of over $1,400,000 to the District's current year budget.  

 

As part of our continual efforts to support student learning, in anticipation of the loss of revenue due to ongoing declining enrollment, the SRVUSD has used attrition as an opportunity to make changes to its administrative structures and realign our resources. The goal of these administrative changes is to support student learning by improving workflows while being as economically efficient as possible. In total, the District has eliminated 20 management positions since the 2017-18 school year. 

 

Under this reorganization, the SRVUSD has been able to internally promote and retain many of the amazingly talented people already employed in our District, utilizing their strengths and talents to carry on and promote District culture. 

 

As part of the administrative changes, the District will not backfill the following positions:  

  • Assistant Director, Elementary Education

  • Math Coordinator

  • Director, Communications and Community Relations

  • Assistant Principal, Windemere Ranch Middle School 

  • Assistant Principal, Coyote Creek/Quail Run Elementary School

  • Special Education Program Supervisor

  • Energy Management Systems Manager

  • Project Manager, Networking and Low Voltage Systems

  • Construction Coordinator

 

The financial relief to the District’s budget that will result from these changes enables the SRVUSD to maintain and invest in programs that benefit student learning. We thank you for your support of our schools and our work. If you have questions, please email Communications@srvusd.net.
