Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies for Stone Valley Middle and San Ramon Valley High
Posted 8/6/19

The San Ramon Valley Unified School District will celebrate with the community the completion of its two biggest Measure D facilities projects.

On Thursday, August 8 at 9 a.m. the ribbon will be cut on the new classroom building at the District’s most historic high school, San Ramon Valley High. This $64 million project provides 52 new classrooms in a beautiful three-story building that includes modern science labs and flexible spaces for learning. Students and teachers have been housed in portable classroom buildings since 2016 while the building was under construction. The project includes a partnership with the Town of Danville to expand the parking to get student commuters into the school’s parking lot and provide additional spaces for the Town’s use outside of school hours. This is the largest project in the voter-approved Measure D facilities bond passed in 2012.

Later in the month, on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 6 p.m., a ribbon cutting will take place at Stone Valley Middle School to celebrate the completion of the Measure D funded Stone Valley Middle School Classroom and Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) replacement project.  The classroom project includes additional classrooms, upgrading and modernizing existing facilities, reinforcing security, earthquake and fire systems and updating technology infrastructure to support 21st century teaching and learning. Students and staff have been housed in portable classroom buildings on the playfield since the project began in 2016.  The project is estimated to cost $37.5 million.

This $260 million Measure D General Obligation Bond funds capital improvements throughout the SRVUSD. Projects include providing additional classrooms, upgrading and modernizing existing facilities, reinforcing security, earthquake and fire systems and updating technology infrastructure to support 21st century teaching and learning.

Both San Ramon Valley High School and Stone Valley Middle School students and staff will occupy their new classrooms when they return to school on Tuesday, August 13, 2019.
